Dr Fong is a civil practitioner and focuses in arbitration, commercial and maritime disputes. He is a recommended junior in the Leading Maritime, Shipping & Transport Law Barristers – Hong Kong, 2025 Doyles Guide.

He has been appointed as an arbitrator for around 30 occassions under the BJAC, CIETAC, GZAC, HKIAC, HKMAG, LMAA and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules as the sole, presiding or co-arbitrator. The quantum of disputes are up to billions of USD. He has published arbitral awards in both Chinese and English.

He has also been instructed as counsel for international commercial arbitrations on over 30 occassions. The quantum of disputes are also up to billions of USD.

He is on the panel of around 30 arbitration institutes including AIAC, CIETAC, CAA, HKIAC, JCAA, KCAB (International), SIAC, etc.
