Joey was admitted to the LLB Programme of The University of Hong Kong with 4As in the HKALE. After graduation, he served his formal pupillage with Mr Hectar Pun SC, Mr Randy Shek, Mr Earl Deng and Mr Adonis Cheung. He spent another 6 months as an extended pupil with Mr YL Cheung and Dr David Fong.
Joey was called to the bar in 2018 and has since been developing a broad civil practice, in particular construction disputes, winding-up, civil fraud, land, mental-health related applications, disciplinary proceedings, company and shareholder disputes, etc.
Joey frequently defends and prosecutes in the magistrate's court, and has contested in forfeiture proceedings. He has also conducted several magistracy appeals as a sole advocate in the High Court.
Joey is a currently member of the HKU alumni association and the Standing Committee on Sports and Welfare of the Bar Association. He is also the captain of Dragon Advocates, the Hong Kong Bar Association Dragon Boat Team.
